*********** NEWS FLASH *********** Due to a family emerengcy, we are currently not taking orders.  Effective 11/12/9 until this is removed.   I will finish all orders started. ************************ My name is Linda Ruskauff and I love sewing and embroidering.   This includes quilts, embroidery, clothing and whatever else I am in the mood to try. Like many girls, I was first introduced to sewing by my mother. I remember sitting at her feet while she sewed in the basement.  My favorite item was a green jumpsuit for my Barbe that matched her outfilt.  It wasn't until my first home-economics class in 7th grade that I tried my hand at clothing.  I loved staying up late at night to make a new skirt to wear for some special function the next day.  For high school graduation, I asked for a sewing machine for a present.   After college, my machine was retired while I worked full time.  It wasn't until my kids were born that I picked it up again, and this time it was quilting that caught my attention.  By the time my 3rd child arrived, I knew I needed an embroidery machine and in 2001 I purchased my first Bernina embroidery machine.  The rest is history.    I love learning new techniques and am constantly looking for new and better ways to embroider.   As a result, I have now opened my first web store, The ,Stitch Sanctuary to share my knowledge with other embroiderists.     I am also a proud mother of a 6, 12, and 14 year old.  As my kids and business grow together it is a wonderful teaching tool for them.  My 14 year old son can now operate an embroidery machine like a pro and my 12 year old loves to help with color selection.  As for  my 6 year old, she always wants one of whatever I am making for a customer.
